
Whistler 2010 Sport Legacies is a not-for-profit business that will own and operate three 2010 Winter Games facilities post-Games— The Whistler Sliding Centre, Whistler Olympic/Paralympic Park and the Whistler Athletes’ Centre.
Mission
To own and operate its Olympic legacy venues in a manner that is economically, environmentally and socially sustainable and that ultimately benefits sport development.
Vision
To create a sustainable Olympic playground that inspires sport excellence and drives community, economic and social benefits.
The organization’s goals include
- Preserve the legacy of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games
- Continue to host national and international sport competitions
- Encourage high-performance sport development
- Inspire youth and First Nations involvement
- Foster healthy lifestyles through the provision of community recreation opportunities
- Promote tourism in Whistler and BC
- Operate revenue centres on a sustainable and fiscally responsible basis
- Create a sport and recreational leader in the world market place
